Digital Planning Workshop with Kate Hufnagel

Wednesday, April 26, 2023

NAPO Greater Philadelphia Chapter is excited to invite you to a special half-day workshop titled, “Organizing Your Personal and Business Affairs in Today’s High-Tech World,” led by facilitator and speaker Kate Hufnagel, The Digital Wrangler.

Today’s high-tech world means more deliberate effort is needed to organize our affairs than previous generations. And having our affairs in order today means a lot more than having a will.

These days, our lives are almost entirely reliant on technology. From banking online and binge watching our favorite series to driving electric cars and following the latest TikTok trends, our world today is a digital one. And as business owners, our businesses wouldn’t flourish without technology. We rely on it to host our websites, communicate with clients, track our financials and so much more.

In this half-day workshop, you’ll not only learn why it’s imperative to consider getting your affairs organized — and how technology is making it more challenging — but also what additional considerations business owners need to take into account. You’ll also go through a couple of activities so you can designate individual(s) to be granted legal access to some of your digital accounts when you’re not able or available. Be sure to bring your phone and/or laptop!

After attending Kate’s workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the complexities associated with modern-day estates
  • Learn how the law treats digital assets when someone passes – from important documents and websites to email and social media accounts
  • Understand which digital platforms have settings to make it easy to legally designate a loved one to access your account when you’re not able
  • Recognize the additional considerations business owners need to take into account when it comes to the inevitable
  • Identify a list of to-do’s to ensure their business is handled how they want it to be when the Good Humor truck comes for them

This workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 26, at 8:30 AM EDT and runs until noon. Sign-in runs from 8 to 8:30 a.m., and light refreshments will be served. The event is $20 for NAPO Greater Philadelphia Chapter members or $40 for the general public.  Register online here.

About the Facilitator

Kate Hufnagel is an estate and digital organizer who is on a mission to make it fun and hip to talk about getting affairs in order. She educates individuals and families on what makes up modern-day estates, how technology is a complexity multiplier and how laws and privacy policies — which we love when we’re alive — work against us when we’re not.

For 25 years, Kate guided and led teams who built big data and cutting-edge software solutions for the military, developed information technology solutions for the intelligence community and designed early data analytics solutions to predict part failures for tractors.

Today, as The Digital Wrangler, Kate applies all her high-tech know-how to helping people leave behind their greatest legacy: a well-organized estate.
