Paper Shredding Questions:

1. Who is providing the shredding truck for this event?

Wiggins Shredding Inc., a professional document shredding service based in West Chester, PA will provide on-site destruction to the general public and small businesses to support NAPO-GPC’s Get Organized! event from 10am to 2pm. The shredding truck will be located in the IKEA Corporate Office parking lot which is located next to IKEA.

2. What kinds of papers should I be shredding?
Each client and each paper situation is different. Professional Organizers help their clients clear the clutter and make decisions about papers that have sensitive personal information or account numbers by asking specific questions about the value and purpose of the papers clients are keeping. Professional Organizers allow their clients to make these personal decisions based on personal circumstances. If you have questions about what to shred or keep, please check the Internet or do a search on "document retention". For specifics related to your situation, please check with your accountant or financial advisor.

3. Is there a limit?
We are asking that customers bring no more than 4 copy-paper-sized boxes per person. Check in with a Professional Organizer at the shredding area and we’ll let you know how best we can process your materials. Every effort will be made to make this a quick process for everyone. Please remember it is a first come, first served event so get there early!

4. Are small businesses invited to participate?
Absolutely. Unlike many public shredding events, NAPO-GPC and IKEA Business encourage small businesses to attend and to pre-register for this event. To allow all to be served, we ask that small businesses bring no more than 4 copy-paper-sized boxes. While you are there, you can talk with a representative of Wiggins Shredding to learn more about pickup service and on-site destruction. We’ll have Professional Organizers who routinely work with the same kinds of challenges you face. Professional Organizers will be highlighting ways that being organized can save you time, money and energy. If you’ve never heard about IKEA Business, this is a great opportunity to see their products and talk with an IKEA co-worker about your business needs.

5. What can go in to the shredder?
Material to be shredded should consist of paper, paper clips, rubber bands, and staples. Material should be free of x-rays, computer media likes tapes and disks, binder clips, hard bound items, and other non-paper materials. For everyone's safety, please remove these items before attending the event.
