PHILADELPHIA ORGANIZERS HOLD SHOE DRIVE FOR
SOLES4SOULS® INC.
JANUARY 14, 2012
Philadelphia, PA – January 3, 2012– Philadelphia area residents are invited to recycle their gently worn shoes at three locations throughout the area on Saturday, Jan. 14th from
10 AM – 2 PM. This is part of a nationwide effort by the National Association of Professional Organizers who have partnered with Soles4Souls in a challenge for each local chapter to collect the most shoes.
NAPO’s Philadelphia Chapter has currently collected over 4, 000 pairs of shoes and one member, Kelly Galfand of Wynnewood is now in 3rd place in the nation-wide competition. If she wins, she plans to take her daughter to Haiti to personally deliver shoes to victims of the earthquake there. Soles4Souls collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of abject suffering not only around the world, but right here in America too.
Members of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter (NAPO-GPC) have been collecting these shoes since July and have been neatly storing them in storage lockers donated by CubeSmart ℠,
a national self-storage provider and NAPO Corporate Partner.
The event on January 14th is the final collection day. Professional Organizers will be on location and ready to help you unload your bags or boxes of shoes. They will also be offering free 15 minute consultations to anyone who wants to discuss their organizing challenges. Several of these NAPO-GPC organizers have appeared on such shows as Mission Organization and more recently A&E’s Hoarders. So tap into their expertise and start your year off organized.
The collection sites are:
- CubeSmart ℠, 501 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 (215-627-3510)
- CubeSmart ℠, 1820 Frontage Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 (856-216-9300)
- United Storage, 6 Tabas Lane, Exton, PA 19341 (610-879-7674)
